Dorothy Ruth Rowe, 94 of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012. She was born March 29, 1918 in Chesterton, the daughter of Charles and Sarah (Flannery) Fitzgerald. Dorothy was a cashier at the National Food Store in Valparaiso for 21 years. Surviving are her grandchildren, Kimberly, Michael, Recena and Samantha, great -grandchildren and great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel J. Rowe, her son Roland E. Rowe, her parents, 3 brothers and 8 sisters. Dorothy enjoyed oil painting, quilting and embroidery work. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 27, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home.Pastor Kevin Gerdt officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 11:00 AM until time of services.
